Which is gaining popularity, is to use some sort of cloud storage. (Gah! I hate that term, cloud. It's just the freakin' Internet after all. Darned marketing people!) One example would be to use Gmail for your business email instead of some on-site solution. So, how we do our data backed up? Overnight, We keep a backup of any modified data files on a central storage device. Then during the day, that data is copied to tape - lots and lots of tapes. Of course, with any data on the cloud (Gah!), you don't have to worry about backups. Which is actually pretty cool.
